Dr. Roberts is an accomplished researcher in the field of Levitated Quantum Opto-mechanics, with a passion for photonics and education. Dr. Roberts obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Macquarie University with a thesis entitled "Towards cooperatively enhanced resonant dipole forces in optical levitation, harnessing quantum emitters in diamonds."

Following the completion of his PhD, Dr. Roberts worked at Macquarie University within the Quantum Materials and Applications Group (QMAPP) led by A/Prof. Thomas Volz. He worked in collaboration with Lockheed Martin US on designing quantum enabled levitated sensors.

Dr Roberts, driven by a desire to inspire and educate the next generation of aspiring scientists and engineers, transitioned towards a teaching position at Knox Grammar School in Sydney’s Northern Suburbs. Leveraging extensive knowledge and expertise in physics, he is dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of the physical world and encourages students to explore the exciting world of science. By employing innovative teaching methods and engaging students in hands-on experiments he cultivates critical thinking skills and a passion for scientific discovery. In addition, he acts as an advisor to aspiring young scientists pursuing extension science, regularly guiding students in their own research projects.

Dr. Roberts' unique combination of research excellence and passion for education has made him a highly respected figure in both academia and the teaching community. His commitment to pushing the boundaries of quantum technology while inspiring and nurturing future generations of scientists reflects his unwavering passion of science and education.
