Exciton Science R U OK? Day Webinar

On Thursday 9 September, R U OK? Day reminds us of the importance to check-in with each other and provides an opportunity to refresh our skills, and help ourselves and each other to cope better, wherever we are on the mental health continuum.

Exciton Science is hosting a webinar and panel discussion on R U OK? Day 2021, with the help of their mental health and behaviour change partner, En Masse, focused on important conversations and positive approaches to mental health.

The theme of the event is understanding mental health and the role that conversations and positive approaches can play.

Exciton Science are hosting an interactive panel conversation via Zoom that will focus on a combination of lived-experience-based discussions and practical, research- and evidence-based tools for engaging in supportive conversations about mental health with anyone you care about.

The panel will be led by Mark Dean, CEO and Founder of En Masse, who will facilitate a conversation between the panelists:

  • Niki Strachan, Communications and Media Officer, Exciton Science
  • Oriana Tokatlidis, Clinical Psychologist and Manager, University of Melbourne Counselling and Psychological Services
  • Dr Girish Lakhwani, Associate Professor (University of Sydney) and Deputy Director, Exciton Science
  • Dr Alison Funston, (Monash University), Deputy Director, Exciton Science & member of the Centre’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EDIC)
  • Dingchen Wen, PhD student, member of the EDIC and trained mental health first aider (University of Melbourne)
  • Alison Campbell, PhD student, member of the EDIC and trained mental health first aider (University of Sydney)
